Schemes for Free Education: Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has entrusted to NTA the responsibility of conducting National Entrance Test for Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Classes in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA (NETS))- 2023.
Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Classes in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) provides for high-quality education for meritorious SC students in reputed residential schools. Approximately 3,000 seats would be provided in class 9th and 11th funded by the Central Government, as per the scheme guidelines.
Intimation for Allotment of Examination City to the Applicants of SHRESHTA (NETS)-2023:
National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS) is an offline test being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for selecting SC students for admission to Class 9 and 11 whose parental annual income is up to ₹ 2.5 lakh. The examination shall be conducted on 18th June 2023.
The candidates are required to check/download their Examination City Intimation slip of SHRESHTA (NETS)-2023 (using their Application No. and Date of Birth) from the website https://shreshta.nta.nic.in/ and go through the instructions contained therein.

NETS Exam 2023:
• Date of exam: 18th June 2023
• Entrance examination will be conducted in all States/UTs
• Both in English/Hindi medium.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Students belonging to Scheduled Castes, studying in class 8th and 10th in the current academic year (2022-23).
• Parent’s annual income is up to Rs. 2.5 lacs.
