Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility for the positions of ‘Assistant Professor’ or ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ is based on the candidate’s performance in both papers of the UGC NET exam, assessed in aggregate. Candidates who qualify exclusively for the Assistant Professor position will not be considered for the award of JRF.
On the other hand, candidates who qualify for the award of JRF are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or a related subject. They are also eligible for the Assistant Professor position.
Universities, institutions, IITs, and other national organizations have the authority to select JRF awardees for full-time research work, following the prescribed procedure set by them. This enables JRF awardees to engage in research and contribute to their chosen field of study.
